Sponsored Reading Week
A sponsored reading week was held from 23rd - 27th September. Children kept a record of the time they spent reading, or listening to a story during the week and prizes and certificates were awarded to the pupils in each class who read the most.
The foundation phase pupils brought their favourite story book to school to share with their friends and they painted pictures from the story.
Mr Wyn Owen, a local poet and artist, visited key stage 2 pupils and held workshops entitled art through words focussing on the autumn. Other activities during the week included writing book reviews and designing posters to promote reading.
A total of £680 was raised during the week and was matched by Barclays bank's pound for pound scheme. Many thanks to Mrs Olwen Davies from Barclays bank for supporting our fundraiser and making this possible.
Thank you also to the organisations that donated the prizes.
