St David's Day

Due to 1st March falling on a Sunday, we celebrated St David's Day a day later, on 2nd March. The children and staff looked splendid in their range of traditional Welsh dress and red rugby shirts.

The day began with a special assembly in which the story of St David was retold, songs relating to him were sung and to end, everyone stood to sing the national anthem.

The Welsh theme continued in the classrooms with a range of activities and many children baked Welsh cakes.

As a special treat, Mrs Jenner brought in her harp and everyone in turn had the opportunity to learn a little about the instrument and to hear it being played.
