Urdd Centre, Cardiff
Year 6 pupils spent 3 days at the Urdd Centre in Cardiff Bay from 8th-10th July.
Once the baggage was loaded onto the bus, they made their way to Big Pit where the children learned more about the work of coal miners and experienced a little of what it would have been like to work underground. From here, they traveled to Cardiff where they settled into their rooms and had supper before spending some fun time on the slides and water fountains at the international pool.
Day two was very busy. It began with a walking tour of the bay, learning about some of the buildings and features located there before an exhilarating RIB ride around the Bay. This was followed by bowling at the Dragon Centre and a global buffet lunch in one of the Bay's many restaurants. A visit to Techniquest and a tour of the Millennium Stadium filled the afternoon and after supper they went to see Minions at the cinema.
Day three began with some very tired children and after packing and having some chill out time it was off to visit the Dr Who Experience before eating a picnic lunch in the sunshine and making their way back to school.
