Urdd Centre, Cardiff

Eleven year 6 pupils travelled to Cardiff on 4th January for a 2 night stay at the Urdd Centre in Cardiff Bay. After having lunch and settling in to their rooms they enjoyed an afternoon of hands on science at Techniquest. Back at the centre, supper was served before we changed and set off to see the Mary Poppins musical at the Millennium Centre. It was "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!"

Day 2 was very busy and started with a walking tour of the bay, before putting on life jackets and going out on the water for an exhilarating RIB ride to wake us all up! This was followed by a game of tenpin bowling at the Red Dragon Centre and then a short bus ride into the city centre for an all inclusive buffet lunch. We then returned to the bay for a tour of the senate, home to the Welsh Assembly Government. The afternoon ended with a journey back into the city centre where we enjoyed a tour of the Principality Stadium. After supper we went to the international pool where the children enjoyed a couple of hours splashing about and entertaining themselves on the water slides, the inflatables and the fountains.

Day 3 was a bit more relaxed. After packing we were given a behind the scenes tour of the Millennium Centre and there was some free time for the children to chill out at the centre before eating lunch and making our way back to school.
